Antitrust counsel lines up for Aetna/Coventry

US health insurer Aetna has agreed to pay US$7.3 billion to buy rival insurance provider Coventry Healthcare, expanding the company’s footprint in federally subsidised health insurance programmes and, observers say, likely gaining the attention of the US Department of Justice’s antitrust division.
