Despite lower merger and acquisition activity and an economic slowdown during 2009, the use of economics and economic advisers still plays an important role in competition law analysis in Norway. This has been revealed through personal interviews with leading competition lawyers in nine of the principal competition law firms in Norway and with several lawyers and other competition experts in leading Norwegian companies and associations. The nine law firms are Advokatfirma DLA Piper Norway DA, Advokatfirmaet Hjort DA, Arntzen De Besche Advokatfirma AS, Bugge Arentz-Hansen & Rasmussen Advokatfirma (BA-HR), Kvale & Co Advokatfirma ANS, Simonsen Avokatfirma DA, Thommessen Krefting Greve Lund AS Advokatfirma, Wiersholm Mellbye & Bech Advokatfirma AS and Wikborg Rein.
