New York litigation specialist Cravath, Swaine & Moore has a longstanding tradition of eschewing lateral partner hires in favour of promoting its associates. The firm rarely sees partner departures, either. This year saw antitrust specialist Teena-Ann Sankoorikal promoted to partner. The firm has 35 competition lawyers in total – around 8 per cent of the firm’s overall headcount. Three of Cravath's 10 antitrust partners are Who’s Who nominees: practice head Robert Joffe, the firm’s presiding partner Evan Chesler, and Katherine Forrest.
