Claudio Donato Monge has been a partner of the Zürcher, Odio & Raven law firm since 1991 and director of the regulatory and antitrust area of practice. His areas of professional practice include public law, administrative law and competition law. Claudio has distinguished himself in the public law area as a university professor, international consultant and speaker at several seminars and specialised conferences. He served as president of the Costa Rican Competition Commission (COPROCOM) from 2001–2004 and was a member of the Deregulation Commission of the Ministry of Economy. Additionally, he has been counsellor and adviser for private and public companies in corporate, antitrust and administrative law matters, and has provided advice in the public infrastructure, telecommunications, energy and tourism sector to multi-national and local companies. He has also participated in drafting bills and reforms for the improvement of regulation in the areas of concession of public works, private initiative and simplification of government procedures.
